It sounds strange to say that I fell in love with books because of a computer game.  I don't mean my love of reading or the joy I find in a good story.  Those had come about years before.  I am referring to the physical object of a book.  Pages, sewn and bound.  In the world of the Myst games and novels, a linking book could literally transport you from one world to another - an enviable concept for someone who always appreciated a book's ability to figuratively take you anywhere.  But it wouldn't work with any old book.  The right words were important - but so were the pages, the binding, even the ink.  The form was critical to the function.

In my work I strive to make journals and sketchbooks that are worthy of the story you are going to tell.  Pages that are sewn together.  Quality paper.  Linen thread.  Leather that is prepared specifically for book-binding.  I create volumes that are a work of art on their own, but they are not complete until they contain your thoughts and imaginings.
